Is there a way I can record VHS tapes onto my PC and then burn them on a CD-R? If so what do I need to buy? Do I do it with a VCR/TV? Or whatever?..lol Im new.

If you are looking for an inexpensive solution, I've am using the AverTVStereo card. I capture it to AVI using ULead6 Video Studio then encode it to MPEG1 for burning to VCD. It works for me, and the quality looks pretty good to me. You can replace ULead6 VS with several pieces of freeware, but this is the no-hassle approach. If you want to use freeware, I was able to use VirtualVCR to capture, TMPGenc to encode, VCDImagerGUI to author, and CDRADO to burn.
You can capture directly to MPEG1 using the AVerTVStereo card, but I have a slow PC so I did it in 2 steps.
Hope that helps.
