  1. I seem to be having a problem with DVD Decrypter and wondered if this was the right place to get support. The problem is I keep getting an I/O error (in IFO mode). This error does not occur on DVDs I make, just on the commercial one I want to rip. Not sure if it's a Decrypter problem or a Sony problem. Any suggestions?

  2. That error is due to the fact that the disk is still locked. In order to fully unlock the disk, you need to play it for a few minutes with PowerDVD, then close powerdvd, open DVD Decryptor and it will select your main PGC with no errors. Let me know if that works. Also, you don't want to use your Sony Burner for ripping. It is much slower then most DVD ROMS. Get a DVD Rom at 16x. You can probably get one for less then $40 U.S dollars. I got an Awesome Liteon/Buslink 16x DVD Rom for $50 with TWO $20 Mail in Rebates. One from Best buy, and the other from the manufacturer. $10 for an awesome 16x DVD Rom.

  3. well... I was about to say the same thing Defense said but then I read what he wrote.

But here it is, don't use ur burner to do anything else. Why?
First it will be slower than a DVD-Rom
Second you will keep it longer. (I killed a HP CD-burner in 6 months because of heavy reading and copying. And HP didn't want to fix it for free they said it was my fault.)

  4. No, that was not the problem (I tried it and it didn't work). However, I did manage to find the problem. In the Tools | Settings, I/O Tab, the Interface was set to SPTI - NT/2000/XP/.NET (I'm running Win2K and I guess that's the default because I didn't change it). I changed the setting to ASPI - WNASPI32.DLL and everything has worked perfectly since!

Actually, I didn't buy the burner to rip movies, I make my own content. However, $10 for a DVD ROM is too good to pass up!

    Thanks!
