dru 500 a firmware upgrade trouble

Hi ..i a am trying to upgrade firmware 10 d to 10 f but it puts me in a loop. I try to upgrade and it tells me to restart my pc and i do and it tells me to restart my pc and this just keeps going on like that. It wont let me upgrade. I tryed it in safe mode with no luck. Sony support did not answer my email ..
So any help would be great. Thanx.
Ps using xp home ed.

There was a couple of post about this. Do you have any "non standard" IDE driver ? Did you run both times in safe mode ? Did you followed all instructions given by sony web site ?

I have (Standard IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers) drivers. And i followed the instructions ... change dma to pio ..and turned off my anti virus and firewall..
And all the upgrade lets me do is restart my pc and i did this a couple times in save mode.
Too bad sony wont write me ..i may have to call them. Thanx for the thought.

I had the same thing. You must click on the dropdown box & "select" the Sony. Then it knows you are certain. Seems counterintuitive & downright stupid but it works.

Nope ..didnt work. Still stuck in the reboot first mode. Thanx anyway.
Maybe i will uninstall all my burning programs and try that.
