recently whenever i burn a (avi-divx)disc no conversion is being done
i get bad frames. Before burning i scan for bad frames or wath the film to verify there are no bad frames but after the burn when i try to watch the video or scan for bad frames(Vdub) i get bad frames or an avi read error.
my theory is that the bad frames and read errors are caused by CRC errors resulting from the burn. this is what i have tried:
Derfrag, using various programs: NERO, Easy CD, PRASi, & the burner ap that came with Win XP. Also I did a fresh reinstall of Win XP Home when I tried each of the burning Aps to make sure there were no conflicts. Also i tried cleaning the lens and using different media and burning @ 4x the slowest the burner allows and this has had no effect.
i've had the burner (Acer CDRW 20X10X40) for over a year and i don't think i was having this problem when i first got it so i'm going to try a new burner any suggestions as far as which burner is the best i don't need speed just reliability---->NO BAD FRAMES AFTER BURNING :P
