    Hello again.
I have an XviD file that only plays in WMP with extreme blockiness. Not sure what details I need to give you but is there a way I can get rid of this problem?, is it a codec issue?. The file in question (8 legged freaks) seems to be OK on other machines cos' I've asked.
I have V Dub and TMPG Enc' installed.
I know you will need more details so please don't shout at me
I eventually want to encode this file to play on my standalone.
    Thx

I tried installing but got an error. 'Cant write/Windows/system/XviDdll'

Doh!. Should I be able to install a codec and that would enable me to play the file properly?.

    Thx for reply

  5. Nothing.......just play your XviD file to see if you're still having the same problem.

OK, sorry for the delay in getting back to you all, Xmas an' all.
I tried everything suggested and no luck. That codec from you tenders, I thought was going to do it but WMP eventually gave up trying to open it. I then had trouble playing some other movies so I had to un-install it.
I've since D/L'd another XviD movie as an experiment and am having the same problems.

Is there anything else to try??
