xvid avi problem when playing on eternal dvd player

hi ive have a avi xvid movie ive got from a friend. iwant to watch it on my dvd player. ive done it several
of times earlier burning xvid avi files on a dvd and then watched them on my tv.

so heres the problem now. the xvid file playes on the computer just excellent using vlc player
but when burning on dvd and then watching on my tv the graphics turns in to squares when theres a movement
on the screen. ive tried to reencode the file with autogk but without any changes.

anyone got any general tips to do this so it will look as good on my tv as it does with vlcplayer. ?

I would try reconvert using avi recomp.

great! i reencoded it with the app you suggested and now it looks fine in the standalone player too
