  1. Everytime I try to load a .avi or .mpg video file in TMPGEnc, I get the error that the file can not open or is unsupported. Is there some settings or plug-ins I need for it to work? What is the problem?

  3. I downloaded the trial version of TMPGEncv2.59 to help with the backing up of my DVD movies. I uesd DVD2API to create a *.d2v file and an *.ac3, but TMPGE keeps telling me that the files are unsupported. I have tried many uninstalls and reinstalls to no avail. I have also tried setting the Directshow priority to 1 and even manually pasted the DVD2AVI.vpf file into TMPGEnc's file but even that didn't work. I'm at my wits end here. What gives?

The .d2v file should load into TMPG provided you have the right priority set. However, if you are creating mpeg2, then TMPG will not work if the trial perood has expired!

If you choose to decode rather than demux in DVD2AVI (remembering to re-sample) you can produce a .wav rather than .ac3, which you will have more luck with loading into TMPG.
