Cannot view files on CD or DVD with DRU 500 A

I am having a problem, but I am sure it is something I don't have set correctly. I created a DATA CD with the newest version of NERO on my DRU 500A DVD drive.

I can place the CD in my CD Rom drive and use Explore to see the files, but if I place the CD in my DVD drive I can not view the files on the CD. I cannot access the files either.

I also burned a data DVD with NERO and I have the same problem. I even try the RECORD NOW that came with the drive and had the same problem.

Can someone give me some help.

Hmmm - you didn't make a data DVD and try it in the CDROM drive by chance?

No, I made sure it was a CD.

can you read anything on the drive? if you can't maybe the optical pickup head is defective. Did you try to refresh to system by pressing F5? Go to the drive properties - volume - populate.

The Drive can create DVDs, play DVDs, Play CDs.

I have found out that if I go into Nero and then do an Info on the CD in the drive I can then do a cut and past out of nero

I was able to correct the problem that I was having.

I removed the DVD Drive in Device manager, shut the system down and then started the computer back up.

I found the DVD drive installed it and now I can use explore to see what files are on the CD.

I have to say that I have been VERY HAPPY with the drive and the software that came with it. The only problem, besides this one, was writting to MEMOREX DVD-R, but I see where these are flaky with this drive anyway.
