I have Sony Wega kv-21ft2k.
It have 1 composite input(frontside of tv) and one scart(backside).
When i use composite input or scart in composite mode, all is OK, but any attempts of using s-video cable leads to black&white picture.
Does anybody know, do this TV (Sony FD Trinitron KV-21FT2K)support s-video at all?
Or i just need something else than s-video&composite->scart thingie shown in how-to section?

I know you are from Russia and your local TV system is SECAM. Your TV, “the scart” connection is obviously for Europe. I know your TV is multi-system. Do you have the TV manual for instructions how to fix it to color?
What are you trying to do? What are trying input with your s-video? Are you trying to use the DVD player or the output of your computers capture card to the TV?
Have you checked the TV’s color system setting as auto? My computer’s PVR have different settings for the two connections. Does the TV have separate configuration settings for the s-video and the composite video? Did you check the connections? The wrong setting will make the picture B/W.
I know the DVD player settings for s-video out and composite video out is also different. If you are trying to use the DVD player, check the settings of the player. -
This tv automatically detects colour format - actually instructions is very...silent about colour formats at all.
Anyway, as i use tv-out (s-video natively, composite signal by special s-video->composite cable) of my radeon7500, i tried switching to both available PAL and NTSC (well, looks like SECAM doesn't liked by anyone but french and us, up to our tv studios using PAL equipment and PAL->SECAM converters...didn't work.
As i have no other s-video devices, nor my friends have, i'm unable to test tv input other way
Also there is a thought - as same SCART's "leg" is used both for composite signal and s-video luminance signal, then having b/w picture proves nothing... it can be as well an unfunctional s-video or just plain composite
And finally,i heard somewhere (after we bought this tv), that on most tv sets, RGB and S-Video usually unavailable throught same SCART.
Any idea, is there cheap DVI->RGB or VGA->RGB converters? -
I have a Sony WEGA TV too. Not the same model though and I don't have the scart.
I had a feeling that SECAM and the scart is causing you the problem. I did noticed on my TV that I can select the color system as SECAM instead of auto. Do you have this option on your TV configuration settings?
Sorry, I forgot the radeon7500 video out. This is where the problem is. Your video out is doing the NTSC or PAL and not for SECAM into the TV.
I don't live in Russia and unable to help. Good luck for a solution. -
Had similar problem, only thing wrong was ONE bent pin inside the S-video connector

Did your Wega have RGB input?
Also i found no colour - related options not in menu nor manual. Weird.
And 'bout SECAM - actually even in Russia only SECAM source is broadcast Tv (or _taped_ broadcast tv_) as all commercial VHS(didn't saw any S-VHS) tapes available in PAL only. I've met no exceptions.

No, cable is OK - i connected my Tv-Out to my TV-Tuner's S-Video in and colour was OK. Gotta check S-Video->SCART converter...but this damn thingie isn't supposed to be opened... -

My video card out to TV is only via the composite and s-video connection.
Sorry, there is not much I can do. Any questions, ask.
