This is probably an easy fix. I'm taking some AVI's given to me by a freind and converting them over to MPEG1s. Here is the problem, After I run them through like I have always done I get sound but no video. I can play the AVIs without a problem but finished MPEG1s are messed up... I can still compile my old AVIs and they work. But these new ones wont convert. Any thoughts?![]()

Thanks for the advice. I just ran one through and found no errors... Could it be fram rate or size? Weird thing is the entire thing is black, no video....

Just for grins I ran all through VDub and found nothing out of the ordinary.. The AVI's play fine in WMP, so I must have the correct codecs.. The onlt thing I can think of is ASPECT ratio on the original. However I've never run ito this before. One other thing, if I import the AVI into Adobe Premiere I get the audio but the video is blank. Does anyone have suggestions?

If you get an error message when opening the video or audio like file unsupported
or you get an empty(black) video preview window
or the video look wierd in the video preview window like green or purple or pink
Be sure that you have installed the DivX Codecs (both DivX 3.11, 4 and 5) and also try with the Nimo Codec Pack. If that does not work try to change the codec reader settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 1 or 2 and try open the video.Hello.
