  1. Hi folks

I recently installed WinXP. In order to have all codecs installed I got Nimo-Codec-Pack and installed it. Now every time I open a mediafile WMP opens, says it loads the file and then closes without any message. In another post a guy said that he had the same problems and it was the Nimo Codec Pack. Is this true? Did I make something wrong? I used the latest version. Is it possible to uninstall it or just parts of it?

    Thanx a lot

  4. To uninstall the pack goto the control panel -> Add/Remove Programs. Select the nemo pack & uninstall.

  5. After installing Nimo Pack a couple of weeks ago, I had the same problem with WMP and ATI Multimedia Centre, i.e WMP and ATI MC would shutdown while attempting to open any file (video or Audio). I looked for the answers on the Internet and and found the answers at this at this link :http://www.nwlink.com/~zachd/pss/pss.html.

You do not need to go back to old WMP. Go to this web page, which is all about WMP, and follw the procedures: how to recover WMP after Nimo Pack Install. Do not ever use Nimo Pack again.

    Hope this will help

I keep seeing people reporting problems with the Nimo codec pack. My own experience was that it didn't bother to ask me before replacing codecs I already had installed with older versions. When I uninstalled it, it happily removed every A/V codec on the computer instead of just the ones it had installed.

Is there any good reason at all to use it? Every codec it includes is readily available elsewhere (without the Nimo problems), and most people probably only need a few of them anyway.

  7. Hi
Thanx at all! I managed the problem! Or better to say I think I managed it.
I uninstalled Nimo (thanks to dmonty) and reinstalled it. AND I found at Nimos page the hint: "WARNING !!!
There is an INCOMPATIBILITY with the "TFM Audio Filter v1.0 beta 7" and the Morgan Multimedia Stream Switcher 0.95, DO NOT Install them together, chose one of them only if needed".
And it seems that this was my fault.
After reinstallation everything worked all right. Every movie and every mp3 plays all right (despite of an THX-avi-trailer whitch stutters, but I donŽt know if this was bevore my "crash").

If this wasnŽt the bug iŽll inform u.

Some folks have absolutely no problems with nimo. Others think it better only to install codecs as and when you need them.
