If I start with an AVI captured from my digital camcorder with audio initially recorded as 16 bit PCM (48,000 Hz) and I use TMPGEnc to generate separate video (.m2v) and audio (.wav) files, with the audio settings in TMPGEnc set to PCM (48,000 Hz), is any re-encoding of the audio going on within TMPGEnc, or is it just separating out the audio portion of the AVI and putting it in a .wav file?
More generally, is there any better way to produce the input I need for authoring via MyDVD (which requires PCM audio).
Any insight would be appreciated.
Regards,
Eric J
