    Hello
I recently bought the Pinnacle DV100 capture card that came with Studio 8. Love it, but when I went to burn from VHS directly to DVD using the MYDVD program, the program does not recongnize the card. It is something with MYDVD and not the card. I found that out. BUT, my problem now is, what other software is out there where I can burn directly from VHS to DVD? I don't want to capture to my computer. Any helpis really appreciated.

  2. You want to cap directly to a program which is burning the capture on a DVD ? Jeez... It'd be much easier to capture to a drive first. Is it just a space limitation ?

I have tons of space, but it would just be better to put the NHS tape in and let it burn, I don't understand why putting that extra step into capturing onto a computer if I can just burn it. I mean if I have to do it, then fine, but if I don't that would be Great.

    No.

Sounds like, if anything else, what you're looking for is either:
    * a Hardware DVD write, or
    * a set-top DVD burner that burns on the fly as you play, or
    * a software real-time MPEG-2 capture app, but that you'll still need to
burn it to CDR or DVDR.
    * or a Hardware mpeg-2, but that you'll still need to burn it to CDR or
    DVDR.

Well, I am not sure. All I know is, is that we were going to us MYDVD to burn a DVD from our VHS. It was capturing but not to the computer but to our recorder. Since MYDVD does not support the capture card that we have, we would like to use another program that can burn directly from VHS source to our DVD burner.

  7. hey Jen,

Would you consider using virtualdub to capture the video, then burn the files with your dvd burning software ? That seems like the best option for you.

Well, I really don't want to capture, I just wanted to burn directly from VHS to DVD. I think I have found a program. I need to research it more. Ever heard of NeoDVD? I think the one I was looking at is the 3.0 Standard. It does direct burning from VHS to DVD....

  9. Jen,

sounds pretty heavy-duty. Let us know if it works out ! I hope your hardware can handle it, doesn't sound like it's an operation for the faint of heart. Good luck !
