Hi, I'm new to to this so please be patient with me.
I have a Medion computer with Vista Home Premium. I have some old vhs tapes that I would like to transfer to the computer and edit and copy to DVD. I've looked on the net and Pinacle Dazzle looks good, but some reviews say it's no good. But it does seem to have a good editiing suite. Can anyone recommend something that would be suitable to do both the copying a editing. Thanks

Hello Michael, A really GREAT place to begin would be the "Forums" on this site..!

Look to the LEFT of your screen at the "OTHER" header - you would then click on the "Forum" selection. You can then read the info on Capturing & Authoring and so on...!

I would avoid Pinnacle products. My entry into the video world way back in the dark ages involved a Pinnacle product and it gave me nothing but trouble. I have since learned that I was not alone.

I currently use a Canopus ADVC110 to convert to DV, then edit in Vegas.

Having said all that, it is more important to get a good VCR and a TBC (see LordSmurf's tutorials). No matter how good your capture product is, you can't add video information that is lost. So playing back your VHS tapes on a crappy Walmart VCR is not going to be desirable.
