TMPG VS CCE FIELD ORDER QUESTION

I know this is a general question but I was wondering If the “field order first” option varies between tmpg and cce. Let me explain: I use my camcorder as a passthrough from vcr to cpu via firewire. I have always used tmpg and the setting for field order has always been set for BOTTOM first. Now I just tried cce for the first time and set that to BOTTOM first but the results were jerky playback on standalone player ( which from what I have read is indicative of possible field order problem) So I was just wondering if this setting changes depending on the encoder?

I had the same experience. I have heard that CCE field order is reversed for some reason????

You were right Troy. I switched it around and did the top field first. Works perfectly. I can't believe nobody else has had this problem. Thanks for the tip.
