everytime i try to cut a vcd, it always cuts the same file size and time in the movie, i have changed everything, file name and postion in movie but it keeps cutting the same part

Is it possible to cut Before encoding ? might be easier for you that way?

i woudl agree cut before encoding.
others may disagree but give vcdcutter a whirl. i have used it for a while now and have had no probs cutting *mpeg1 files* no matter where i cut the clip at. allways in sync. of course the demo version dont allow much usage.

ive tried others, ive tried vcdcutter, its only the demo, ive tried tmpg, but that problem keeps occuring, can sum1 help me??

If you just need to cut a big mpeg in two parts you can use MPEGtool. It gives you strange framenumbers but if you set the slider to the middle it perfectly cuts MPEG1/2 files in two (or more) parts. If you want frame-accurate cutting you will need something else

i put it in the middle, it always only cuts the first 5 minutes, i set one marker in the beginning 00:00:00 and the other in the middle

just to be clear... i don't mean the mpeg tools in TMPG but another program called Mpegtool (I know.... it's confusing). You can find the program i mean here: http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/mpegtool.html
It works and it's very fast
