I have ripped several DVD's to hard drive. I'd like to put them on CD-r as VCD but when I use nero it seems to write it all good and proper but when I come to play them after they don't work. Not on my stand alone DVD player or on my computer.
I have used software that "does it all", andcopies it all in one go and even that doesn't seem to work. When I explore the CD it only has about 500kb used.
When creating VCD with Nero I drag the MPEG file over as instructions say to the BIG window (it won't go in any other folder i tried) but "dis fing aint workin!"
Can someone help me??
Cheers

when you rip the dvd does it make an mpeg 2 ? If it does and you make that an sVCD or a miniDVD, alot of players won't play sVCD's and almost none will play miniDVD. Try using VCDIMAGER to make a .bin/.cue file then use Fireburner or Neroto burn with the .cue file

it converts into an MPEG1. How do I do what you suggested? And do Ihave to slide that new file across with the MPEG1 File?

perhaps your dvd player doesn't support cdr's or vcd playback- check the compatibility link to the left of this screen. as for your computer, have you got the correct codecs installed? try installing the nimo lite codec pack. go for the lite pack as opposed to the full version cos its full of spyware. having a software dvd player like power dvd on your computer will let you playback mpeg2 files. hope this helps
