maybe its just late or I am not grasping a very easy concept...
I have a Leadtek TV2000XP and currently use PowerVCR to watch/cap video.
When all I had was a CDRW, I would cap 60 mins of TV video, trim it, and burn it with Nero SVCD template, pop it in my Apex and watch TV...Quality was a little lacking since I only wanted 1 CD per 60 min episode.
I have recently bought and installed a DVR-104. With that in place, I upped my capture to DVD-NTSC resolutions. After capturing 60 minutes, then trimming it down to about 42, I was ready to copy to a DVD-RW...

Can I not copy the MPEG2 video to a DVD using NERO just like I did the SVCD to CDR??
Must I author first even tho I dont need chapters and such??
If so, what is the best/easiest software to use to just cap cable TV??
I have searched the FAQ's, but I think this question is so easy that it is not even listed
The ultimate reason for this is to get better quality on 1 medium for viewing....
thx

You will need to author your mpg captures. They need to be DVD compliant. Which usually means 720x480 and audio sampled at 48000.
If they are you need to demux the mpg into it's .m2v and .mp2? components. Download SpruceUp.it's free to try and is in tools section on this website. It will convert your files into ,vob's and create the ifo files you need to burn it,probably with Nero. -
ok...I am capturing using PowerVCR at 720x480 (quality setting of 1 for now) and PowerVCR only does 44.1Khz audio
In the most basic sense, I must find utilities that will
upsample to 48Khz
demux(author) the Mpeg2 file
burn the resulting files
I assume there is not 1 utility that will do all 3 in one fell swoop???
thx for the help

Look in the Tools section of this site for software. I would go with Tmpeg,it can the demux/remux and can resample the audio. Nero for burning.
