  1. Can anyone help me out with how much cropping and such I need to do when I capture like this. I'm having trouble keeping the correct aspect ratio. The capture is with VirtualDub at 352x480 using mpeg4v2 codec@6mbs video/8 bit stereo PCM audio@44.1hz. The only filters I apply during conversion to mpeg are for contrast and brightness adjustment+de-interlace and then frameserved to tmpg encoded at 352x240 and I've been trying to do the re-size in tmpg. Can anyone offer a sugestion or two about keeping aspect ratio? Thanks!!

Since you are doing a custom capture in vdub why not use the vertical reduction available in the same menu panel. As I recall, it has a bicubic option that works well and your output from vdub will be 352x240 even though the capture is at 352x480.
There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.
