Splitting an AVI

however, the cutting is not always clean i.e. some scenes before or after the point specified will be included.

Move to start of split, but click the yellow keyframe once backwards then click the black arrow on left. <

Move to end of split, click the yellow keyframe forward once then click the black arrow on right. >

You now have a section marked (At keyframes) now save that section with SAVE AVI

You can also split files with TMPGEnc, and you can save them as .mpg, so they're VCD ready.
