The DMR-E30 has only analogue audio inputs.

A DTS stream is digital data.

In otherwords, there is no way to input that digital data stream into the E30, or any other set top DVD recorder for that matter.

Trying to use a DMR-E30 to record DTS is like trying to use a tape deck to save Excel files.

  4. That is why you should buy a computer DVD-R burner

  5. If DTS is more important than the simple of ease and more faetures a desk top player has over a computer burner, like timer, tuner, editing, hook directly to DVD Player, laser disc, Dishnet, wirless remote, works just like avCR compared to the computer burner, then you should buy the Computer burner, specially if you have time on your hands to rip, author and burn these copies.
Any setup will only do 2.0 Dolby digital, which means your only gonna get Dolby surround, or THX Dolby Theater surround, no 5.1 DTS or 5.1 DD, mosts disc I have found, unless its a high octane action film or Disney don't much advanage of the 5.1 DD anyway and anything before 1993(before DD and DTS hit the theaters) you not goona get much of an advantage anyway, because almost all movies before that were only Dolby Digital anyway, sure a few today they have nehanced those soundtracks to simulate 5.1, most don't do a very good job.
