  1. Hi guys.

    What happened:
After I did some changes to the Xvid four CC changer values, I can't play my .avi files anymore.

    My failed attempt:
I have tried uninstalled Xvid, delete registry keys of Xvid but I still can't play .avi files. I also tried re-installing all my divx codecs but it didn't work.

    My problem:
Windows Media player 6.4 and 8.0 will just freeze and I need to force quit the application. I can't view my beloved avi files anymore.

    Pleaseeee... anyone can help me?

Format C: will be the last resort and I don't want to habour that evil thought.

did you change the four CC values of the file or was this a setting for something else? -- because the four CC bits is used as an identifier for certain type avi files ... and i would think changing them would be a big no no if you didnt know what you were doing ,, i don't know the values either but i see big warning on a program i have saying changing these values will make this file unplayable ... can you set them back to what they were?

Try re-installing xvid, then dump it

Install the Nimo codec pack, see if that fixes the problem. Can you load AVI's into Vdub ?
