  1. Hi, ive been having problem re-encoding some of my avi files,

i burned an avi file to a cd so i can play it in my standalone player
but its messed up, it skips some of the frames
so i tried to re-encode it in various tools like,

    VirtualDub
    AlltoAvi
    DivX's Converter

but using Vdub the output is blocky unlike the original file
using alltoAvi is also blocky and using the divx converter tool, starting part of the video is gone although the sound is seem to be complete.

i also matched the bitrate, fps and the resolution but its still blocky

so im looking for softwares or tutorials that re-encode files (fast)
so that i can play it in my standalone players

    thanks

Could you also include the make / model of the player involved , in order for help to be more specific in locating a solution .

And check what gspot has to report about the internals of the avi
