I just brought this new DVD rom, after i install it into my computer, it won't let my computer boot. Sometimes the computer boots and sometimes it doesn't.

  3. Was this bought as a replacement drive, or did you just add it to your machine? I was wondering if you might have both devices (an existing CD/RW and the new DVD-ROM) on the same cable, and have both set to "master" instead of one as "master" and one as "slave".
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

My DVD-rom is slave, and the CD-RW is master.

  5. Make sure the pins are well placed, or otherwise your computer will have serious problems.
