Hi.
I have just started trying to capture DV video from my camera to PC, and have found that any significant motion (eg. subjects running, jumping, or even camera movements) results in some "jerkiness" when the file is played back on the PC. When played back directly through the camera or TV it is fine.
My PC is 450MHz and video card (I think) is 8MB.
Could this be caused because my PC / Video Card is not powerful enough?
Thanks for your assistance.

A common cause of this is a slow hard drive or slow processor. Depending upon your resolution (of the Video) your 450Mhz may be a little slow. Just as much as a factor is the speed of your Hard Drive. For video capture and playback, a minimum 7200rpm hard drive is recommended for full D1 video (720x480).
At high motion parts of your video, the bitrate (or imformation rate) is probably exceeding what your processor can handle, and exceeding what your hard drive can spit out.CrazyPants Productions
