hi guys i have a problem i was not able to solve.
up to about few weeks ago i converted xvid movies to dvd with any of the programs i had(vso dvxtodvd /easy dvd creator/dvd flick/winavi) and they played fine on the pc or standalone player.
now (i don't know when it changed)all of the above prog.still convert fine but when i play the dvd files, either directly through a player in my pc(wmp/vcl/nvdvd)or burned in my stand alone player, the images are jerky.
before it did not use to do that!
when i watch a movie now and the camera action is fast moving the image jerks and it's not smooth.
i don't know what's going on :any ideas?i cannot pinpoint when this change occured because i'm always installing new converting programs ect.
the original xvid plays fine, and judging by the fact that the vob file plays jerky also when played directly in vlc media player,i thing there something wrong in the encoding.but how can that be that all of the programs use the same encoder?expecially dvd flick who uses it's own encoder?
    it's driving me nuts!
    help!
    ps:my info

It's in the glossary on the left links.
It's usually only evident during high motion
see if there's a setting for it in your software

It could be caused by a bad standards conversion (PAL to NTSC or vice versa). Check the framerate of your source file.

frame rate of source file 24 ,wich is different from ntsc dvd (30?29?):
but even if they are different ,the programs supposet to apply a pulldown.
is there any way that my pc (for some odd reason) wont apply a pulldown?

I think it is possible to make a progressive NTSC DVD with framerate 23.976 and apply a pulldown flag. I never make any NTSC DVD's because we use PAL here in Sweden so I have not to worry about anything else than to use 25 fps.
