I currently capture videos with AMcap (official hauppauge program for WDM users) hooked up to my digital satellite reciever with s-video (dish network) and in preview mode I get this strange color "bleeding" I guess you could call it where the color looks kinda like puddles and doesn't blend together properly. My AVI file I get after capping does not have this, but onc eI conver to VCD with TMPG, it comes right back...I cap at 352x240 resolution with YUY2 compression (AMcap doesn't let you use codecs)
I thought it might have something to do with the digital source maybe but I was suspiciou because it did not appear in the AVI file until I converted it. But it showed up in the preview window.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks.

When you play the AVI, its fine.. So I guess your talking about the preview in TMPGEnc, so try this to see if there are any improvements.
TMPGEnc
Select options > environmental settings
click the VFAPI plug-in tab
right click the "DirectShow" and select higher priority, do this several times until its at the top with a value of 4
