Hi
I have had problems getting the source aspect ratio correct in TMPGEnc.
I ripped Gone in 60 Seconds (UK pal version) and found that although DVD2AVI said that the source aspect ratio was 16:9, when I set this parameter up in TMPGEnc, the resulting mpg file has tall elongated people in it. I used the PAL VCD template and set the output to Full screen (keep aspect ratio).
Any ideas what may be wrong? The DVD box says that the aspect ratio of the film is 2.35:1. Can that be right?
Thanks for any replies.

You might try making sure that the "Video Arrange Method" is set to "Full Screen (keep aspect ratio)". I have the problem you've described if it's set to just "Full Screen".
