  1. I am a newbie to recording DVD to SVCD and was using DVD2SVCD to rip a DVD film to HDD which should have created three bin files. The film was just over two hours long and the whole process took some 15hrs. Unfortunately I had not allowed enough disk space on the partition I was ripping too and only got two bin files that have been able to burn fine with excellent results. The third and smallest bin file was not produced.

I no longer have the DVD disk but on my HDD drive I have the following files: Encoded_Video_TMPGEnc_PAL.mpv, TMPGEnc_Project_file.tpr, VTS_01_5.vob, VTS_01_4.vob, VTS_01_3.vob, VTS_01_2.vob, VTS_01_1.vob, VTS_01_0.IFO. With these files is it possible to create that third bin file? As I said I am a newbie and may be talking gibberish. TIA

  2. It looks like you may not have to re-rip the movie. You have tewo file with the extensions .mpv and .tpr. You may be able to open TMPGenc and load them both in. Unfortunatly you will have to go through the whole encoding part again. In the end you will have 1 mpeg file that will be the entire movie. You will need to use a program like VCDscissors (I think that is what it is called) and cut the MPEG in to 2-3 Mpeg files. Then you will have to use Nero to burn to SVCD - See the Authoring area for information on how to do this. If you want to be able to use chapters, you will need to add a file. It is explained in the Authoring section under Nero.

    Hope this helps in someway

  3. Free up disc space.
Goto misc, choose recover, choose last option.

Would I use TMPGenc to do that or DVD2SVCD?

I have VCDcutter which I assume would be ok for that.

  5. Use TMPG to load the files but then instead of coding the whole thing again to one big file, edit the source range so it starts where your cd 2 left off. Then you dont have to worry about cutting and it wont take as long

  6. Twizzle can you please help me here. I did what I thought was right with TMPG and certainly got the video right but no sound, I don't know what to load up in the audio output or even if I don't do that what I have to do to get sound on the video. The video output is fine and found it easy to do what you said as far as editing is concerned. Can you possibly outline what files are loaded where to get video and sound please?

  7. Muffybean, Its been a while since I have used dvd2svcd im afraid but you need the video file (which it sounds like you have) and the sound file (which i don't think you have at the moment). Try using the BeSweet program in the dvd2svcd directory to convert your vob files.

Your best bet is to ask a few questions at http://forum.doom9.org though as I am sure there are people there who know MUCH more than me about it

    Good luck though
