Will DVD2SVCD run on Windows Vista Premium? Do I need to take any extra steps in the install process?

I used to use this program years ago and was looking to get back in to it.

    Thanks,

    Kibble

I haven't tried it with Vista, but try installing in 'Run as Administrator' mode. That's best with most installs. If you have problems with that, then R click on the installer, go to 'Properties' and install with 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:XP SP2'. But that's an old program, so compatibility may be a problem.

If you have a new computer running Vista, it is an easier process with better results to just convert/RIP to DVD instead of creating SVCD's on CD. In most cases, it is also cheaper.

    Just my two cents.

DVD2SVCD works fine here on Vista with UAC disabled.

I use dvd2svcd for avi to dvd conversion, does more than create only svcd.If you run vista64 then you will have to set compatibilty mode to windows xp sp1 or it will crash with runtime error.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

I haven't used it in years and didn't realize it performed that conversion. Thanks for the info.
