The reason I ask is that I use Smartripper, DVD2AVI 1.71, Xchapter, TMPGEnc with toolame and SSRC plugin and VCDEASY.
I understand that DVD2SVCD uses a modified ver. of DVD2AVI and some other modified program that doesnt come to mind at the moment, will this conflict with the ver. I have installed. I have noticed that when I install a new ver. of TMPGEnc and leave the old one on my computer that under the environmental tab it picks up the new VPAFI plug in from the new ver. I have not gone back to an older ver. to see if it has effected it any, but being around computers for awhile I know that some programs can cause havoc with each other especially if you have different ver. installed (dll conflicts and the like)
Should I be concerned? can I just install DVD2SVCD and do my thing or should I uninstall some programs?
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.....

tough to say. I did install dvd2svcd today actually and it installs all the packaged programs into it's own directory, thus I have 2 copies of most of the tools installed now in different areas.
most if not all of the tools run off .ini files or command line input for their settings and/or profiles and do not work with the registry. there are a few areas such as the VPAFI plugin that you mention where it's location is written into the registry, but dvd2svcd doesn't install tmpgenc so should be safe there.
looks quite safe to me. you can be certain by backing up your registry then installing and testing your applications. any problems, restore your registry, delete dv2svcd dir and back to square 1.
