    Hi!

I started to capture a VHS tape (recorded using a camera) using VirtualDub at 25 fps but a lot of frames started to drop. So I disabled the Audio capture and captured just the Video at 25 fps this time No frames were droped (0).

But the problem is; even though the initial VHS video was 45 mins the captured avi file is 29 mins. How can I fix this problem?

I tried increasing and decreasing the fps but none of it seam to work. (it would be best if I can capture the audio as well without droping to many frames, but for now at least getting the entire 45 min VHS into avi without audio will do.)

    Thanx... (pls help)

  2. Did it just stop capturing when 29 minutes of the tape had been captured? Does the size of your 29 minute file happen to be ~4GB? If so, is your hard drive formatted with NTFS, or just FAT32?
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

NO, VirtualDub captured the entire 45 mins, and the files size is less 1.5GB, Frames droped was 0 (VirtualDub showed it when capturing)

After the Capturing was done, when I opend the AVI through Windows Media player, it only shows and plays for 29 mins (of course without audio as I opted not to capture the Audio as a lot of frames were dropping)

I captured the Audio seperatly using a different software it runs for exactly 45 mins. But as the Video is only 29 mins I can't encode the Video and Audio streams together using Tmpeg.
