  1. i have xp and have downloaded and installed adaptec aspi, version 4.6 and 4.7. but vcdeasy still does not recognize them as valid. The more info button says i should be able to force my burner to work.

  2. There should be a tool that comes with the Adaptec download that checks your ASPI installation (ASPICHK.EXE or something like that). What does it say?

Many people have had similar problems with the Adaptec download. ForceASPI (which also installs the same ASPI layer) seems to work well with WinXP. You can download it from http://www.doom9.org

  3. Highly recommend FORCEASPI
I had the EXACT same problem with VCDEasy while running Windows XP Professional. I installed ForceAspi, and everything worked like a charm. In the ForceAspi readme html file, there's also a link to get that ASPICHK.EXE program that checks to make sure that your ASPI is working correctly.
    Good luck!
