  1. im after putting several movies onto one disk. i know i could converge all the movies into one massive file, but then they wouldnt be seperate and it would play all the way thru

    im after making dvdr's with
    -several avi movies on them
    -several vcd movies on them
    -mixture of the 2

then i'd use an authoring program and create a main menu to sellect which plays

hows the best way to go about this ?

  2. Format them to a DVD-r compliant VCD stream... I cannot remember the exact format sizes, but there is a low res one around 352x282 and a high res around 704x480 (don't quote me, I cannot remember but TMPGenc has these built into the wizard).

Once you have your VCD streams, burn them like you would do a VCD disk, but onto your DVD-r. The next button then on your standalone will shoot to the beginning of each VCD stream....

  3. Go to this guide: http://forum.vcdhelp.com/userguides/98376.php How to create a DVD compliant CVD using DVD2SVCD by Baker. In order for an MPG file to be DVD compliant, it must be standard DVD resolution (720/704X480/576) or it can be (352X480/576). The latter is CVD resolution and will enable you to store several movies on one DVD-r medium. The quality will also be very nice.

Keep in mind, the resolutions mentioned are for MPEG-2 video. If you have MPEG-1 video, the DVD supports MPEG-1 video also, as long as the video stream complies with the DVD GOP length maximums and the audio is sampled at 48kHz. I've made several DVDs that are essentially giant XVCDs, and I burn four movies to a DVD this way.
