  1. I've converted alot of downloaded avi/divX,but this one has me stumped. Its TLoR cd rip in divX mpeg4 low motion with 23.976 fps,and compression with vdub is useing Fraunhofer IIs mpeg layer-3 codec. I follow the all in one guild from the forum and its been gold 'till now. I receave no error messages, vdub works great, and when I use Tmpge I adhear to the forum convention, get vid file, get wave file, set movie parameter, remove margins keep aspect, and use the ntscfilms template as per the forum and fps. When the conversion is done I verify the format by seeing if it will play on hollywood+,but to date with no avail.
My pc setup is this amd processor1900+ ,40gb hd,rm hollywood+ mpeg card, nvidia gforce 3 vid card, and sb live 5.0. I have a bunch of codec's and have read the problem shooting on the forums and no solution yet.
Thanks for the help all this site is priceless 8)

Well that's a good description of what you have been doing, but it does not say what your problem is ??

The grate mystic, will now read your mind.....

    Ah, did you ?

Well try this, Load into Vdub and select File > Scan video stream for errors
    When finished..

Select video > streaming audio> streaming

    Save as

Save out another copy for use In TMPGEnc

  3. sorry about that I blame paralisis by analysis ! The problem is that aftyer I convert the divix,I find the new file fine, and it is converted to mpeg as per it being recognized by holly+,but when I try to play the new divix file converted to mpeg holly+ tells me NO FILE FOUND.
I ran the divix through the error checker that I got off the tools link from vcd-help and no errors were found.I played the new file on win, real player, and the eugeen add on to holly+ that I downloaded off the vcd-help page and it played on all of them just fine too.
I'll run the clips through vdub now,but this, whats probably gonna turn out to be a simple problem, has me perplexed big time.
Thanks for you help and input kingJohn its very appreciated

Whew, Ok so you have converted the DivX "AVI" to Mpeg1, and you say its fine ? and its converted to mpeg1, because its recognized by Holly+ ?

But now you confuse me, as you go on to say you try to play the new "DivX" file. but its no longer a DivX is it... it should now be a VCD Mpeg

    AAAgHHHHHH

Ok, the AVI is converted to Mpeg1 by what ?, what are you using to convert the AVI to Mpeg ?

Save yourself some trouble, load the AVI into TMPGEnc and load a VCD template, the output file will be a fully compliant VCD mpeg, which if small enough is ready to burn to CDR

    1, download AVI
2, load into Vdub, scan for junk frames, save out another copy using streaming if any bad frames found.
    3, load AVI into TMPGEnc
    4, load a VCD template
    5, run

Output file might be too large to fit on a single CDR, so you need to split it in half using Mpeg tools in TMPGEnc, otherwise its ready to burn.
