I am trying to reduce the size of Toy Story 2 but I keep getting a problem with the conversion.
Every few seconds the picture goes jagged, see here for what I mean http://www.geocities.com/codesss/test.htm
I have had this happen with a few other films but don't know whats causing it. I have used tpmgenc & cce but both give the same result, can someone tell me what I am doing wrong.

I have encountered these 'staircase' effects on MPEG2 to MPEG2 conversions. When I encounter this issue I usually have to enable the 'Inverse Telecine' option under 'advanced'(tpmgenc). From what I understand this option converts 29/30 frames per sec to 24 and deinterlaces the movie. I'm not sure why this works but it corrects the 'staircases' issue for me.
