  1. Ok I was using DVDShrink and Any Dvd running in the background and backing up some DVD's of mine. I was having issues which it would only get to 2% then die so I started to burn to a DVD-RW cd and I did one (Civic Duty) it went fine no issues so I though cool now I will do one to a normal Sony DVD+R disc. I started it and it failed what the heck is going on??? I works fine to a -rw but not to a perm +r. Why??

    Please help.

    Thanks

What are you burning with ?

Do not say DVD Shrink, because Shrink does not burn on it's own - it uses Nero or DVD Decrypter.

What error messages do you get when it fails ?

  4. I did use DVD shrink. So what should I use to make this more smooth?

    I get a write error.

I was running DVD43 in the background also and still no luck.

What is the best way to get this to be smooth process, programs to use?

Use to work fine DVDShrink and DVD43 and now issues. No a ton of coasters.

    Arghhh

Again, DVD Shrink does not burn. It uses either Nero or DVD Decrypter to do the burning.

Get Shrink to write the results to a HDD folder, then use Imgburn in Build mode to burn the contents to a disc.

  6. Ok so DVD Shrink, with DVD43 in the background then load Imgburn and burn the files from Hdd to the DVD?

Is there a better program then DVD43 to use or is it the best?

    Thanks much

  7. guns1inger:

Ok I tried to write DVD to the Hdd using DVD Shrink and DVD43 in background. I got 25% done and got an error.

DVD Shrink encountered an error and can not continue. Failed to read file D:\"

    Data error (Cyclic redundancy check).

Ideas for this? The DVD is The Invisible.

    Thanks

There's no reason to use DVD43 in the background. Just use the latest DVDFAB DECRYPTER to rip the files to your hard drive first. Then use DVD SHRINK to compress the files. Within DVD SHRINK create a ISO image instead of the VIDEO_TS folder. Then burn that ISO image with IMGBURN.

Data Error Cyclic redunancy errors can be from the dvd disc being dirty with a smudge, or have scratches or have dust on it. Are you using the original "THE INVISIBLE" dvd disc? Also you can try the disc in another computer because maybe your dvd burner/dvd-rom isn't able to rip discs that have errors or discs that are scratched. Or your dvd burner is dying and not able to read files correctly.

Why make an ISO? Just burn the VIDEO_TS from ImgBurn (use "build" mode). I've done dozens of discs like that.

It doesn't take much to create a ISO image instead of the VIDEO_TS folders. I didn't wanna confuse the OP which is why I told him to just create a ISO image. Obviously the OP doesn't seem to understand the basic concept of ripping, compressing and burning a dvd disc.

Within DVDSHRINK you have to close all open dvds then put in another dvd. That's why it shows the name of the first one.

So you are failing ripping, not writing ? Your first post says problems burning.

    Start again.
Exit DVD43 so it no longer appears in the tray.
Rip with DVDFab HD Decrypter to your HDD.
Open the file in DVD Shrink, and make whatever changes you require.
Write the results to a folder on your HDD.
Burn the contents of this folder to a new blank disc.

I know, but he doesn't seem to be listening, and repetition is apparently a good way to get retention of a thought.
