I am currently converting some DivXs to XVCD format and used BitrateCalc to come up with the necessary bitrates and resizing of the image.
I used the standard VCD resolution but wanted to use the 720x576. Unfortunatlly when I created a small test file, it did not play correctly at all on my DVD. I figured that it was cos the DVD couldn't handle it.
However, when I used nero to burn my XVCD I created a small menu just to see how it would go. When I looked at the Mpeg/track that nero made called 'Menu' it had a resolution of 720x576 and it displays correctly. Why is this. Is it because it is not a full motion Mpeg or did I do something wrong when encoding my test?
Thanks for any help.
P.S
How should I archive a 1.5Gb DivX onto CD. I need to get it of the machine to free up space.
