Everytime I try to burn a VCD-compatible MPEG, Adaptec says the MPEG is not ready for VCD. A big "X" appears. This is constantly happening even though I use various apps to convert AVIs to VCD-compatible MPEGs. Help! Thanks.

A few details might help........
What Adaptec are you using? EasyCD Creator? Toast?
What Version? Standard? Deluxe? 4.xx? 5?
VCD Easy is also worth a try if yr well stuck -
Or get nero or CDRWIN. Since Ez CD Creator was bought from 5 on, it went down hill.

Using Adaptec 5.1 Platinum with the upgrade to XP installed. When I first started using it, it worked but consistently doesn't now. I own a copy of Nero but afraid to install it because the last time I tried that, it threw my new Sony Vaio PC into a constant "start up" loop and I had to reformat. Maybe one of the apps mentioned here is worth trying? Thanks.
