After encoding with TMPGEnc 2.5x my subtitles are
very near or half way off or all the way off the tv screen .
Which of you super smart people can tell me how to fix it ?
I'm doing NTSC to VCD of fansubs
OR how do I put a black bar at the top and bottom of my frames without cutting off the subtitles ???

Adjust the subtitle position with the subtitle filter. If your source is an AVI with hardencoded subs, search the forum for "overscan".

where do I find the subtitle filter ?
I don't see it in the list with "clip farme" and the like.
Is it an add on or??
Thanks in advance -
Do you have the subtitles as seperate file?
No, TMPG does not have a subtitle filter, but e.g. VirtualDub or Avisynth. -
No the subs are not seperate (to my knowledge) .
Files ahve been d/l off a hotline server.
I was wondering about how to make the "clip frame" work.
Say place a bar underneath to push things up or completely
surround the frame and resize ??
Thanks in advance
