I have a few dashcam AVI files that I need to play but they seem to have been recorded with no information on length, frame width, frame height, data rate, total bitrate, frame rate and audio information including bit rate, channels and audio sample rate. The files all have sizes in 250-400 MB range so something has been recorded. Tried fixing with VLC player, tried converting to MKV. Is there any way to enter this data manually and get the files to run or any software that might be able to extract/correct this information? Total newbie, please dumb it down if possible.
Thanks in advance.

Will they play in their entirety in the Dashcam? If not maybe the dashcam is faulty or more likely the SD card is corrupt.

Unfortunately the file doesn't contain any useful data, the whole thing is binary zeroes Last edited by davexnet; 30th Jul 2023 at 15:13.
