    Can I take my Mpg I created and convert it to Divx so that it fits onto one cd? also, how is the divx quality? thanx

    or could I somehow make the mpeg smaller than 700 mb so it can fit on a cd-r? the movie is 90 minutes.

    Use a program called Rad Video Tools. It can be found in the tools section and it will allow you to compress the file into AVI using whatever codec you want.
