Hi all
I am getting a green line around Virtualdub 2 window and when I click on File>Open Video File, absolutely nothing happens. If I drag a video file onto a running instance of VD, it opens and I can edit it and all, but when I want to save it, again, nothing happens (and same goes for when I press F7).
I've downloaded a fresh copy, but no luck.
The original VD works fine, but I would like to use VD2 !
Any thoughts?

I have no idea what is the problem, but can you see at least any file dialog in any of places:
file->load processing settings
file->save processing settings
file->run script
job control->load job list
job control->process directory
audio->from other file
view->log->save as
?

Hi Davexnet
As per your observation, I turned off Malwarebytes and McAfee real-time protection, but that had no effect. I couldn't figure out if there is a way to turn off Windows Defender ....
Those are the only two antivirus / antimalware apps I have running on my PC and I don't have any Sandbox software running.Last edited by Gotanno; 2nd Jun 2018 at 11:40.

Very strange. Try to delete all plugins (plugins32 and plugins64).

OK! I did as suggested and then rebooted and problem was solved. But I need some of those filters, so I unzipped the latest version (VirtualDub2_41882) and when I ran the exe file, Windows Smart Screen / Defender thingy popped up warning there was something amiss. I selected "run anyway" and got the green line / no dialogues problem again.
So, it seems there might be some sort of a conflict going on with one of the filters and my system .....
I'm going to try whitelisting VD with Windows Defender and Ill keep you posted -
Hello again
OK, so I just found out that I still have COMODO Cloud anti-virus installed on my pc, even though I thought I had uninstalled it (it almost borders on malware: It is hard to get rid of!)
Comodo has a sandbox feature which was indeed sandboxing VD.
So, I have added it as a trusted app and it is working fine now.
However, it is still being flagged in Windows Defender, although if I allow it to run (the Windows Defend dialogue only appears the first time VD2 is run) it works normally (i.e no more green border, file dialogues work, etc).
Here are some screenshots of Windows Defender issue.
Thanks for your help you guys.
