  1. Hi there,

Can you guys post where did you buy your DVD-R (DVD-RW) discs. How much you paid. And how's the quality? (I mean, what speed you burned, what's the model of your DVD-R(W) drive and did all your DVD-ROM drive can read them?)

I think if we can collect this kind of information, we can help others by choosing the correct store to buy correct DVD-R(W) which are not so expensive.

    Here's my "no good" result....DVD-Rs from cd-recordable.com

    -----------------
    My drive is DVR-104.

    First try:
    I bought some blank DVD-Rs from cd-recordable.com for $59 (25 DVD-R).

I can see clearly there's "uneven dye coating" on EVERY DVD-R. But I still tried to burn them at 2X and 1X. The results are the same: can be burned.....but when I read back the data to compare, it looks like it has difficulty in reading back.

And when I put in a DVD-ROM drive and try to read back and compare with original data, it always stuck. It looks like it has difficulty to read it.

    Second try:
I got another "no brand" DVD-R. Burned with 2X. Same sympton as the above. And I get another disc and try at 1X. It's better, at least the DVD-R drive can read back the data and compare OK. (the option with NERO 5.5.78). But when I put that DVD-R in my laptop's DVD-ROM, nothing can be read.

    -------
I will keep trying and post my results.
