  1. hi, i used the h265 codec for a video, but it needed 10 minutes for rendering 2 seconds, and after that i could not open the video. when i opened it, there was only a black screen, the video did not play. why?

  2. H.265 require approximately (at least) over 16 - 32 time more computing power to encode video data.

Black screen may be outcome of few things but for sure you need to have proper H.265 decoder installed on your system - as you didn't provided any information on this there is no way to help you.

  3. Thanks, what exactly on information do you need? The H265 is installed in the videoeditor I use. ALSO: when i try to delete the files, the message "com surrogate has stopped working" appears. And i cant delete the files. And the files do not have a thumbnail picture.

  4. yep, x265 is really slow unless you have uberpowerful, modern hardware. methinks you have an older, slower system at that fps. system specs pls.

  6. Mainly operating system and installed codecs (to decode you need decoder) - player may be also an issue - you can partially solve mystery about your encoding if you use self-sustained player like ffplay from ffmpeg package.
