  1. Hey guys for some reason Sony Vegas just randomly decided not to work with my videos for like no reason.

Just a few days ago i could take footage i recorded in DXtory with the Lagarith lossless codec and it just says when i drag it in "None of the files dropped on Vegas Pro could be opened".

and when i try to import it it says "Warning an error occurred opening one or more files" An error occurred when opening the codec.

I have lagirth installed so why isn't it working? I tried installing and uninstalling it, i re installed vegas and nothing, and i removed any other codecs i had downloaded and it still won't load my videos, please help me out here.

Oh and when i try to import it, it lists the file as unknown so what the hell???

Did you recently install some stupid Codec Pack? More often than not, that is the culprit.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........

You need a VFW codec pack like K-Lite, and then enable Lagarith in the Decoder section.

  7. when installed K-Lite I can view the video files now in WMP, but sony vegas still refuses to accept the movie files.

I just checked my Lagarith custom Vegas template and it's gone too! WTF! I haven't used it in a long time, so I didn't notice when it disappeared.

I notice there is a FRAPS decoder in ffmpeg, but you have to enable it using the codec configuration tool.

  11. Sorry to revive this old thread, but it still gives me problems in Vegas 12.0. I recently got a new PC and installed Lagiarth and i still have the same problems, granted when i did install K-lite before then sony vegas refused to read any AVI file what so ever. however I have uninstalled any codec pack ever and sony vegas still refuses to load my avi files and when i drop the files into vegas it says "None of the files dropped could be opened" always says this, i have no idea what's going on can anyone please help?

Also before i got my new PC I did some how manage to make it work but i forgot what i did to make it work and read my files again which is really frustrating so if anyone can help me fix this please let me know.

Can you upload a sample file (10 seconds)?

Its will help discovery a possible solution.

  17. Another option might be to convert them to another lossless format that has fewer issues in vegas e.g ut video

I some how managed to make it work again before but i don't remember what i did, i think it was when i copied over an aviplug.dll and that might have fixed it but now i tried that again and that doesn't even work.

Probably Sony Vegas 12 installation is corrupted. Get Revo Uninstaller Pro trial and remove it using method below.

    Try and reply.

  22. When i do import media i Get this error when I drag it, I get the other error, I tried everyone of your suggestions, what on earth could possibly be stopping this thing from reading the files? there has to be something, is it the aviplug.dll? can you upload your aviplug from your vegas 12 or something? I don't understand, i've uninstalled vegas, i've reinstalled it cleanly what's going on? can you try uploading your avi plug?

There has to be SOME way to make this work.

The .avi file opens here in Vegas Pro 12 and 13, Win 7 64. No K-Lite in sight, never was nor will be. The Lagarith lossless video codec 1.3.27 installed. MediaInfo similar to that in Cauptain's post.

  24. So why is it giving me the codec error then? if it opens for everyone else it should for me right? so what gives
    Quote Quote
  25. I finally got it to work! I basically just uninstalled EVERYTHING, even the lagirth codec and went back and reinstalled k-lite and installed lagirth with K-lite and set all the codecs like was shown above and now Vegas reads my avi files! hurray! success!
