Here's my boggle, I can capture compressed AVI at 30fps no problem. Then I've been using MPEG1 compression (TMPGEnc) and burning those to disks. Last week I found VCDhelp and last Xmas got a Philips DVD-714 player. I downloaded VCDEasy and began to study however the about 6 burnt CD's later I still cannot play the finished DAT file in the MPEGAV directory. It will play with the Windows media player but sound and video are garbled. Green squares and blotched video is all I can see. The player results with either the same as above or disk error or trys to look for MP3 files. Okay to wrap things up:

Philips 714 DVD Player - Manual states VCD 2.0
Computer 1.1Ghz Celeron, Acer 8x2x32 CDRW
Win TV Capture Card 848 Booktree

MMPEG-1 352x240 29.97fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 224kbps
VCD 2.0 option set on VCDEasy

I am just curious about the VCD options since my player says it will play them. If I cannot keep losing disks like this my wife is ready to kill me.
