I have about 25 or so HD movies in the .mkv format. Just about all of them will play in windows media center/player. But a couple of them will only work on VLC player. Is there a reason for this that is common or is there some way i can fix this or find out what the problem is? I have the full k-lite codec pack installed.

    Thanks

Probably a missing video or audio codec. Try a newer version of ffdshow.

And you can use mediainfo to identify the video and audio codecs in the mkv.
