    Hello I have a Canon ElPh 520 and it's awesome. The only problem I have is that windows movie maker can't read it. QuickTime can though. I've tried a few free programs and none can read the video type I even bought a program to edit and it can't read the file type as well . What could possibly convert this into something that is readable?

    Download MediaInfo and use it to vew your file(s) in tree view. Copy and paste the report in this thread. Once folks know what's in the file we can make suggestions.

    edit: Looks like AVC h.264. See if the free trial of Vegas Movie Studio works for you.
