I have a Technika 22-228G TV. It has USB capability and I have some MKV files that I want to play on it. I've used G Spot to find some info out about a file that I know will play on it. Its an AVI listed as having the DX50 video codec and under audio it says MPEG-1 Layer 3. I want to convert the MKV files to AVIs of the same configuration so they will play. Does anyone know how I can do this?

	dx50= divx.

 Use for example freemake video converter, load the mkv, choose to avi, change preset to tv quality xvid/mp3. (xvid should also work fine). If you have HD video then resize to around 720x480/576pixels or lower.

 You can also use video to video converter, divx converter, xmedia recode, xvid4psp...Convert to avi with divx or xvid and with mp3 audio.

	it seems like it is HD ready with USB and built-in DVD player.I have a Technika 22-228G TV

 - DX50 => DiVX 5 codec, try mkv demuxer, demux avi video and mp3 audio stream from MKV. Use AVIMuxer and mux into AVI. Copy it on USB and try to play HD without re-encoding or down-scaling.I've used G Spot to find some info out about a file that I know will play on it. Its an AVI listed as having the DX50 video codec and under audio it says MPEG-1 Layer 3. I want to convert the MKV files to AVIs of the same configuration so they will play.
 No reason to down-scale, if you can enjoy HD.

 Just DX50 tag does not confirm 100% DiVX Player compliance. Plus, Technika 22-228G must be able to handle DiVX compliant video stream as well.

 if it fails to play.

 its already been suggested.If you have HD video then re-size to around 720x480/576pixels or lower.

	"Hd-ready" doesn't usually mean that it supports HD file source material. Very few dvd/tv divx players supports it. Probably just that it can output it as 1080/720.
